Welcome to Gelosweb

The website dedicated to information on Gelotophobia

Gelotophobia is a new area of research. You will not find anything relating to this so far, especially at an applied level (psychiatric, clinical psychology, self help etc), as it is still only at the inception stage. Anything you will find on the Internet will relate back the few dedicated researchers, like myself, who are slowly piecing together information.

As scientists, it is our job to put together the pieces of the jigsaw and at the moment we only have the outer edges and the picture in the middle is only beginning to emerge.

We are currently looking for a number of case studies; people with the extreme forms of Gelotophobia who are willing to share with us their story of living with Gelotophobia and how it has affected their lives. This will be done in the strictest confidence and in total anonymity. If you are interested in helping please CLICK HERE to complete an assessment, so we know just of how Gelotophobic you are, then continue to answer the case study questions.

Please do not complete a case study without an assessment score.

The advantage of participation is that not only will you develop a deeper understanding of yourself in relation to your phobia you will be helping others gain an understanding of it too. You will also be at the cutting edge of any findings that may arise, which may assist you in dealing with this phobia.

It also means that those who work in the applied psychology fields will be able to recognize the symptoms and target help accordingly, so more people seeking help, will find it.

I would really like to have you onboard for this investigation, and hope you will be interested in collaborating with us. All that will be asked of you is to complete a questionnaire, which will assist us to determine how severe your phobia is. If you are still interested you could go on to answer some general questions on how Gelotophobia began, how it affects your life. Confidentiality is assured at all times. For terms and conditions please CLICK HERE
